A.J. Barnett

A.J. Barnett, 85, of Erwin, TN, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 20, 2025.

A.J. grew up and attended school in Poplar, North Carolina. In 1962, he met the love of his life, Mary Faye, in the Rock Creek and Norton Hollow area of Erwin, Tennessee, and the two were married on May 9, 1963. They shared fifty wonderful years of marriage together before her passing.

A man of strong faith, A.J. read his Bible every night and lived his life with kindness and gratitude. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, whether he was out fishing and hunting with his grandsons, visiting with his granddaughter, or simply sharing conversation and laughter with those he loved. He also had a soft spot for animals and was never without a beloved dog or cat by his side.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Faye Barnett; his parents, Park and Mae Barnett; and his sister, Pat Harold.

A.J. is survived by his daughters, Angela Frey and Amy Sadler (Matthew); grandsons, Dentis Andrew Inman (special grandson) and Adam Keys; granddaughter, Macy Sadler; great-grandsons, Aiden Keys, Dylan Keys, and Kashten Carver; and a special friend, Brad Horton.

The family will hold services at a later date.
