Alica Jean Oyler, 67, of Kingsport, Tennessee, formerly of Lewistown, Pennsylvania, entered Heaven into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, after a short battle with cancer.
Born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, Alica was the daughter of the late Harry K. and Pearl (Henry) Filler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Lou Fry.
Above all else, Alica treasured her family. She found joy in life's simple pleasures-browsing auctions and thrift stores, trying her luck at bingo, relaxing by the beach, and taking memorable trips to Gatlinburg. Holidays were especially dear to her heart, and she delighted in decorating and creating celebrations that brought family and friends together. Alica had a generous spirit and a servant's heart, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted husband of 27 years, Daniel Oyler of Kingsport, Tennessee; her daughters, Daina Moore (Frank), Erica Stein, and Bethany Stein; her son, Charles Egolf IV (Mary) of McVeytown, Pennsylvania; her sisters, Faye Lee Hesketh, Sandra Lockett (Harold), Dianne Auman (Allen), and Gracie Bossinger, all of Lewistown, Pennsylvania; her brother, Harry Filler (Mariann) of Lewistown, Pennsylvania; her beloved grandchildren, Jacob Weaver, Haley Kirkpatrick, Jaylee Hamilton (Devin), Kristian Hamilton, Gavin Stein, Quentin Adams, Ivy Adams, Austin Moore, Dallas Moore, and Tracy Rothrock of Lewistown, Pennsylvania; two treasured great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and caregivers of Amedisys Hospice for the compassionate care, comfort, and kindness they provided to Alica during her final days.
A private family viewing was held on July 23, 2026, at Trinity Memorial Centers in Kingsport, Tennessee. A Celebration of Life service will be held in Alica's honor at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home (Woodlawn Location) on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with a graveside service and burial to follow at Mount Rock Cemetery in Lewistown, Pennsylvania.
Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the Oyler family. Online condolences may be shared with the family through the funeral home's website.
