Anita Gay Brummett

Anita Brummett went to rest with the LORD on May 20th, 2025.

Born on May 14th, 1956, in Kingsport, Tennessee, Anita was a devoted and loving Daughter, Wife, Mother, and Nana. She was married to Clarence Brummett for 53 lively years. Together, they built a life based on love, hard work, and dedication to family. Her greatest pride was in her family; she loved them with a fierce and unconditional heart that extended to all those around her. Her vibrant spirit touched everyone she met, bringing joy and conversation, even to strangers.

Anita was also a woman with an incredible work ethic. She held many jobs throughout her life, with her primary career being her work at Tri-City Airport. Known for her tireless dedication, she was always going above and beyond expectations. Anita did whatever it took, providing all she could for her family and anyone she knew who was in need. Her generous spirit gave constantly, even if it meant putting herself out-that was simply who Anita was.

She had a deep and abiding love for GOD that served as the foundation of her life. Her commitment to helping others reflected the love she felt from above and in everything she did. Anita found peace with GOD's beauty in nature, often finding solace in her garden among the flowers. With a thumb as green as the pants she tended to, growing anything so long as she had a seed. When life became challenging during her sickness, Anita found comfort reminiscing about times riding her beloved horse, Honey. The simple thought could calm her spirit and bring her contentment during such difficult times.

In her final months, she was surrounded by love, laughter, and happiness, enjoying time with her oldest daughter and two youngest grandchildren.

Anita's legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. Her bold and unique spirit will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
