Anita Jo Smallwood

Anita Jo Smallwood, age 70, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025.

She was born in Kingsport, TN on July 29th, 1955, to the late Buford E. Collette and Dorothy M. (Beare) Robinson. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Buford "Tiny" Collette Jr. and Frankie Collette.

Anita was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Anita's passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Stephanie Smallwood and Ben Mitchell; a special granddaughter, Cierra (Isiah) Mitchell; her sister, Colleen (James) Allen; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; as well as many special friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Shades of Grace United Methodist Church in Kingsport, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Anita's name to Shades of Grace.
