Barbara Marlene Lane

Barbara "Marlene" Thompson Lane, 88, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

"I will bless the Lord at all times his praise shall continually be in my mouth."

Psalm 34:1

Marlene enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, known best for her apple pies. She also enjoyed taking care of her flowers. Most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior, always praising him.

She was preceded in death by her son, Randall Lane, and grandson, Brad Smith.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Karen Smith (Randy), Denny Lane (Lisa), Darlene Williams, and Mechelle Clonce (Brian); grandchildren, Kevin Smith, Denny Lane, Sarah Crawford, Thomas Massengill, and Mackenzie Clonce; numerous great grandchildren; special nephew, Dwight Berry; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 1pm until 2pm at Trinity Memorial Centers, 1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN 37660. A service will follow with Pastor Kevin Sanders officiating. The graveside service will take place at 3pm at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Wexford on the 500 wing who took special care of their mother.
