Beecher Charlie Lane

Beecher Charlie Lane, age 93, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

A lifelong resident of the area, Beecher was a man who truly loved the land and the life it provided. He found great joy in farming and trading, and he had a special affection for his animals. He was happiest outdoors, staying busy and working with his hands, always tinkering and finding something to do.

Beecher had a deep love for bluegrass music and enjoyed playing the banjo. He never met a stranger and was known for his friendly nature and warm personality. Above all, he was a loving father who cherished his family dearly.

He was preceded in death by his son, Randall Lane; grandson, Brad Smith; siblings, Lester, Bruce, Lilly, Dan, Ballard, Elsie, Leland, Pearl, Allen, Leonard, Fred.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Karen Smith and husband Randy, Denny Lane and wife Lisa, Darlene Williams, and Mechelle Clonce and husband Brian; grandchildren, Denny, Sarah, Kevin, Thomas, and Mackenzie; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 30, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Centers. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Webb officiating.

A graveside service will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be family. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Smith,Denny Lane,Brian Clonce, Layton Lane, Brady Lane, Isaac Crawford.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Ashlee Arnold for several years of devoted caregiving, and to Courtney, his nurse with Caris Hospice, for her compassionate care.
