Bernice Woods Stafford

Bernice Woods Stafford, 64, a lifelong resident of Kingsport, Tennessee, was called home in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 22nd, due to natural causes.

Born the eldest of five children, Bernice had four younger brothers: James, Doug, Gary, and Jeff. She dedicated her life to serving others, working for many years as a waitress and Certified Nursing Assistant before spending the last six years employed at Walmart on West Stone Drive.

Bernice was known for her kindness, her warm smile, and the joy she brought to others. She formed many close friendships with her coworkers and customers at Walmart.

She was also a faithful member of Calvary Lighthouse Baptist Church and found great comfort in her faith. Bernice loved spending time with her family and friends, as well as her two beloved dogs, Oreo and Snoopy.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Wells; her father, Johnny Woods; and her brother, James Woods.

Left to cherish her memory are many loving friends and family members, including her two children: Kevin & his wife Shannon, Erin & husband Patrick.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family.
