Bertha "Jenny" Virginia Carrico

KINGSPORT, TN - Jenny Carrico, 68, of Kingsport, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 18, 2025. A lifelong resident of Kingsport, Jenny loved spending time with her family and friends and had a passion for crafting, one of her many talents.

She was a faithful member of Calvary Worship Center and will always be remembered for her generous heart and loving spirit. Jenny was truly one in a million - to know her was to love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Habron and Ruth Necessary, and her sisters, Venus Absher and Wilma Hartgrove.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 37 years, Bruce "Poogy" Carrico; her daughter, Jennifer Barger and husband Brian; her sons, Tyler Carrico, James Carrico and wife Tasha, and John Carrico. She was the proud grandmother of Chelsey Barger, Emily Begley (Caleb), Liam Carrico, Landon Carrico, Lance Carrico, Quincy Carrico, Corbin Carrico, and J.J. Carrico; and great-grandmother to Waylon Begley.

She is also survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Franklin (William) and Freda Hilton; brothers, Teddy Necessary (Angie), Charles Necessary, Dewey Necessary, and Mark Necessary; as well as several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 21, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Worship Center (500 Lucy Road), with a service beginning at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Larry Bledsoe. A graveside service will follow at Chestnut Flats Presbyterian Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
