Bobbie Jo Spoden

Bobbie Jo Morris Spoden, 86, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

She was born on February 1st, 1939, and is preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Flo Taylor, and her sister, Gaynell Smith, of Keokee, VA; as well as her son-in-law, Michael Jeffers; brother, Don Cox; and great-granddaughter, Isabella Ann Carroll.

Bobbie was a very loving mother who worked hard to provide for her daughters. She enjoyed hanging wallpaper and missed her calling as an interior designer. Known as one of the best dressed in Kingsport, she radiated natural beauty. Bobbie loved animals and her companion, Hogan, was her best friend. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Terra Jo (Gale) Housewright, Chris Carroll, and Page Jeffers; and her grandchildren,

Jessica (Matt) Slaughter, Meredith Housewright, Taylor Housewright, Corbin (Shae) Carroll, Grant Havens, Chelsea Housewright, Jessica Jeffers, and Quinton Travis; as well as 10 great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Church Hill with Pastor Dustin Jesse, Pastor David Tully, and Pastor Mitch Russell officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
