Charles Edward Galliher, 90, of Rogersville, TN, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026.
He entered the army at age 17, and served in Korea and Vietnam. Charles then became an army recruiter in Baltimore. He was awarded the National Defense Services Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Bronze Star Medal. By the time he retired, Charles was Master Sergeant E8. He graduated from ETSU with a degree in education. Charles went on to be a minister with the Assemblies of God and Church of God, while also working at Dairymen. When he retired as minister, he became a member of Cornerstone Church in Johnson City, TN. Reading was his favorite pastime. He particularly loved Louie L'Amour and westerns.
He was preceded in passing by his wife, Jimmie Lou Galliher; parents, Mack and Bertha Galliher; brothers and sisters, Madeline Taylor, Sue Kilby, Nancy Higgins, and Garland Galliher.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Angela Bencene and her husband, Scott Bencene; grandchildren, Ashley Delgadillo and her husband, John Delgadillo, Jessica Bencene, and Kirsten Bencene; and brothers, Frank Galliher and his wife, Lois Galliher, and Mack Galliher Jr.
Service times will be announced at a later date.
Donations can be made to Tunnels to Towers in memory of Charles.
