"Charlie"

Charles Hubert LeBlanc III, affectionately known as "Charlie," 65, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

Charlie was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and moved to Tennessee at the age of six. He graduated from Sullivan Central High School in 1979 and went on to attend the University of Tennessee and East Tennessee State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree.

Following college, Charlie spent many years working in the hospitality industry as a manager. He later joined Lowe's in Kingsport, where he worked as a plumbing specialist, although those who knew him would tell you he was really the go-to guy for just about everything.

Charlie was an active member of the Greater Kingsport Kennel Club, where he shared his lifelong love of dogs, especially his favorite breed, German Shepherd Dogs. He participated in both conformation and obedience competitions, demonstrating his dedication to the sport and his love for his four-legged companions. For 30 years, Charlie also organized and ran the Fun Fest Pet Dog Show, sharing his enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion for dogs with the community.

After retiring from Lowe's, Charlie embraced a wide variety of hobbies and interests. He could often be found tinkering with cars, fixing just about anything he could get his hands on, or learning something new. His love of music led him to take up the bass guitar, and he quickly became Ivy Road's #1 roadie. He also participated in the VHCC Old Time String Band, where he played the upright bass.

Charlie was a man of many interests, always eager to learn, create, and share his knowledge with those around him. Whether he was working on a car, helping someone solve a problem, spending time with his beloved dogs, or enjoying music, Charlie found fulfillment in the things that kept his hands busy and his mind engaged.

Charlie was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his mother, Charlotte Bernice LeBlanc and brother, Jean Claude LeBlanc.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 44 years, Janice LeBlanc; their daughter, Jennifer; father, Charles LeBlanc Jr., his sister, Morgan Williamson, and her husband, Blake; and their son, Sullivan Williamson.

A celebration of Charlie's life will be held at Trinity Memorial, with the date and time to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charlie's memory to the American Diabetes Association.

Family and friends are welcome to bring finger foods to share during the celebration of life as everyone gathers to remember Charlie and celebrate the life he lived.
