Charlie P. Haynes, 80, of Kingsport TN passed away on Saturday April 18, 2026 after a short illness.

Born in Gate City, VA to Clyde and Hazel Haynes. In 1966, he married the love of his life Betty Minor Haynes. They had one daughter, Shellie Haynes that was born in Germany while Charlie was serving in the Army.

Charlie was a devoted servant of God, a faithful missionary, and a man whose life was defined by compassion and purpose. He leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, humility, and service to others. He was a board member and instrumental in founding his home church Beacon Church in Blountville, TN. He loved his church family and the always talked about what a blessing it was to be a part of the community there.

Throughout his life, he answered a higher calling, spreading hope, kindness, and the message of God's love across the world. He participated in nearly 100 mission trips, touching countless lives in communities both near and far. Whether building churches, schools or homes, offering comfort, or simply listening with a caring heart, he embodied the true spirit of service.

Those who knew him will remember his gentle strength, his quiet wisdom, and the way he lived his faith not just in words, but in every action. His life was a testament to what it means to serve others selflessly and love unconditionally.

In addition to his parents, Charlie is proceeded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Haynes. Brothers, Paul Haynes, Leonard Haynes, and sisters Faye Higgins and Dorothy Young.

He is lovingly survived by his daughter Shellie and her wife Melody, who carry forward his legacy of love and acceptance, as well as his sister Ruby Arnold and husband Ken, who shared in a lifetime of cherished memories.

While his absence leaves a profound void, his spirit lives on in the many lives he touched, the communities he uplifted, and the family who will forever hold him in their hearts.
