David Walter Grills

David Walter Grills, 60, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 10, 2025.

David was born and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee. He was saved as a young man at Double Springs Church, a faith that guided him throughout his life. A welder by trade, David was known for his strength, work ethic, and generous spirit. He was the kind of man who would give you the shoes off his feet. David loved the outdoors and found peace in nature, but his greatest joy was his family. Growing up in a large, close-knit family taught him many lessons that he carried with him all his days.

David was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Mary Lou Grills; sister, Patricia Russell; brother, Roger Grills; and beloved brother-in-law, Reverend David Hale.

He is survived by his daughter, Chasity Grills (Dustin Newton) and their children (his grandchildren) Taytem, Declan, and Delilah; life partner, Tammy Maxwell, and her sons, Lloyd and Scott; brothers and sisters, James S. Grills (Heidi), Arthur Grills, Margie Grills Hale, Brenda Grills Fields (Donnie), Donna Grills Helms (Lee), Timmy Grills, and Daniel Grills (Ashley); as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Trinity Memorial Centers on Friday, November 14, 2025. Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM, followed by a service at 7:00 PM to honor and celebrate David's life.
