David Allen Rand

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of David Allen Rand, who went home to be with the Lord on February 2nd, 2026 at the age of 45. He passed peacefully after a courageous journey marked by strength, resilience, and love. Though his health declined, his spirit, humor, and love for life never truly faded. David loved his supportive church family at Bethel United Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN. David enjoyed going fishing, camping, hiking, and sports - Go Patriots! He will be remembered for his ability to make others laugh, his kindness and generosity for others, as well as his adventurous spirit.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Deborah L. Rand and Dwight Martin; and brother, Clyde L. Rand.

David is survived by his fiance and soulmate Vickie J Phillips. He is also survived by his son, David J. Rand and Thea; daughter, Laura Palaszewski; step-daughters, Haleigh Phillips and Chris, and Brooklyn Phillips; four grandchildren and one on the way, Genevieve "Evie" Smith, Eleanor "Ellie" Graham, Olivia Rose Rand, and Leonora Ann; sister, Tessa Farrington and husband Bruce; niece, Katie Farrington; nephew, Bradley Farrington; and great-niece, Cassidy; Dave and Rose Coulombe, Bruce and Lisa Coulombe, and Ronald and Marsha Coulombe; special friend who helped out a lot during his illness, Israel Ramon; and all aunts, uncles, and friends.

A service to honor David A. Rand will be held on Friday, February 13th, 2026 at 6pm at Bethel United Baptist Church, 431 Hilton Hill Rd., Kingsport, TN 37663, with Pastor Mike Robinson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to his church can be made.
