Dennis Ray Honeycutt, 65, of Unicoi, Tennessee, went to that Celestial Lodge Above on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
Dennis enjoyed life in his own steady way. He loved NASCAR, good conversation, and the simple rhythm of everyday work. He could be outgoing when the moment called for it, or quiet and reserved when he chose, but he was always friendly and genuinely enjoyed talking with people.
He worked for many years in the grocery business, serving as a produce manager and department manager. Dennis took pride in his work and truly liked the people he worked alongside, as well as the customers he served. To him, work was not just a job, but a place to connect with others.
Family meant everything to Dennis. He was especially close to his nephew, and the two were often together, inseparable like peanut butter and jelly. Those moments of togetherness were some of his greatest joys.
Dennis was a devoted Freemason for 38 years. He served as Worshipful Master of Unicoi Lodge in 1984 and 1985 and was a member of the Elizabethton York Rite bodies. He cherished the fellowship of his Masonic brothers and the bonds formed through shared values, service, and brotherhood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Wilma (Sweeney) Honeycutt, and by his brother, Eddie Honeycutt.
He is survived by his brother, Jeff Honeycutt; his nephew, Jackson Honeycutt; and his Masonic brothers, with whom he shared many meaningful years of fellowship.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, February 3, at Unicoi Masonic Lodge No. 681, 4120 Unicoi Drive, Unicoi, Tennessee, from 5:00 until 6:00 pm. A Masonic service will follow at 6:00 pm. All Master Masons are encouraged to attend. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Honeycutt Family Cemetery, 138 Buckeye Road, Unicoi, Tennessee. Pallbearers will be family and friends, with his brother Jeff and nephew Jackson serving as honorary pallbearers.
Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home, 423-723-8177, is honored to serve the Honeycutt family. Online condolences may be shared at www.trinitymemorialcenters.com.
