Donald James Brickner, 79, of Gray TN and lifelong resident of Beaver Falls, PA, passed away July 3, 2026 at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport TN, after a short battle with cancer.

Don was the eldest son born on April 2, 1947 to James and Adelia Brickner, and grew up on College Hill. After graduating from Beaver Falls Area High School in 1966, Don enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served as a Corpman stationed with Marines in Vietnam.

Don was an avid outdoorsman and shared his love of camping, hunting, and fishing with his family. He lived a life filled with love for his family and was especially proud that his grandaughter, Ashleigh, followed in his footsteps serving in the US Navy.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his two younger brothers David and Daniel Brickner.

He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Allison & Josh Merritt of Gray, TN and his grandaughter, Ashleigh Merritt of Naval Station Mayport, Mayport, FL.

After a private family viewing, Don will be laid to rest with military honors at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Johnson City, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in memorium to the Marine Corp League or to Highland VFW.
