Our husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Donald Albert Crismond, left this earthly life on March 16, 2026, bound for his new heavenly home. Although we will miss him terribly, we are comforted in knowing that he is with the Lord-pain-free and disease-free. We look forward to a great reunion in Heaven.
Don worked in the coal industry in Wise County, Va for most of his adult life as a lab technician for Paramount Coal and Alpha Natural Resources. He was a proud graduate of Virginia Tech and enjoyed many football games over the years at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg. He loved riding his motorcycle on weekends. But he was happiest on a tractor or mower, cutting a field or mowing a yard.
Don was born on November 25, 1947, to the late D. A. Crismond and Agnes (Peggy) Crismond of Blacksburg, Va. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dana Crismond; daughter Denise Gilly and husband Jake Gilly; son Derek Crismond and wife Brooke Crismond; and sisters Peggy Crismond and Pat Crismond. He loved being "Pop" to his seven grandchildren-Aubree Crismond, Ellie Gilly, Lucy Gilly, Brynn Crismond, Grady Crismond, Abbey Gilly, and Liv Crismond.
The family will receive friends at 11:00 am at Trinity Memorial Center, Kingsport, TN on Thursday, March 19. The funeral will be at 12:00 pm with Rev. Greg Sergent officiating and music will be provided by Rev. Jeff Sams. Burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, Va.
