Donald "Don" Wade Davis, 86, passed away peacefully at his home on September 1, 2026.

Don was a devoted husband, father, friend, and community servant whose kindness, generosity, and steady presence touched the lives of many. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Anne Davis; his two children, Donald Davis and Amy Davis; and a host of family and friends who will cherish his memory and the many ways he enriched their lives.

Don proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, serving three years on active duty. His commitment to service continued throughout his life, as he generously gave his time and talents to organizations and causes close to his heart.

He volunteered with the American Red Cross and was a beloved fixture at the Greater Kingsport Family YMCA, where his warm personality and dedication earned him the affectionate nickname of "the mayor." Don also faithfully volunteered at Saint Michael's Episcopal Church, where he was a longtime member and valued part of the church community.

Outside of his service to others, Don enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved golfing, playing guitar, and carpentry, hobbies that reflected his appreciation for both creativity and time spent doing what he loved. Whether lending a helping hand, sharing a song, working with his hands, or simply enjoying the company of others, Don had a way of making people feel welcome and valued.

Don leaves behind a legacy of love, service, friendship, and generosity. His family and friends will remember not only the things he did, but the spirit with which he did them-a life lived with purpose and a heart open to others.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
