Donna Lee Turner (Sis), 67, took her final breath at home in Blountville, Wednesday night, May 13, 2026 and was called home to her Heavenly Father after a long battle with liver disease.
Donna was born in Baltimore, MD, daughter of Donald Lee Pope and Wanda Lou Hall Pope. The Pope's relocated from the city to Bristol, Virginia, in 1965. She was a 1977 graduate of John Battle High School, then went onto College and spent much of her adult career in sales. She was a kind, sweet soul and a caregiver to her mother until her end. Donna touched many lives through her testimony and unwavering faith and positivity. She was a wonderful sister, mimicking the smile of her father, which will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen C. Turner; brother, Jerry D. Pope; and niece, Arlena Mae Pope.
She is survived by two sons, Israel D. Pope and Christopher C. Turner, both of Bristol VA; granddaughter, Maelee Faith Foster of Bristol, VA; sister, Dianna Pope Hughes and husband Phil, of Blountville TN; brother, Michael Pope and wife Christi, of Bluff City TN; niece, Brooklyn Pasquin and husband David, Sara Barnhill, and Chloe Van Dyke; and nephews, Hunter Keesee and Bryceon Shuffler Pope.
The Family would like to give a special thanks to Ballad Health Hospice and special recognition to team members Monica, Shamrock and Hope. Thank you for showing such kindness and care to our precious sister. We believe you are Angels in disguise for the heart wrenching work performed. Please know your "Calling" is honored.
Graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, May 23rd, at 1pm at Mountain View Cemetery In Bristol, Virginia, with Rev. Darrell Martin officiating. Trinity Memorial Centers in Kingsport, TN, will be handling the Cremation.
