Dwayne Ray Cox

Dewayne Ray Cox, 49, of Kingsport, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Holston Valley Medical Center following a courageous battle in the ICU.

Born on September 23, 1976, Dewayne was the beloved only child of Linda Diane Cox and the late Densil Ray Cox. He was a loving son, a cherished nephew, and a loyal friend to many whose lives he touched with his warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit.

Dewayne is survived by his mother, Linda Diane Cox; his aunt, Laura McGuire; his uncles, Myron McGuire and Ottie McGuire; as well as extended family members and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Densil Ray Cox.

Linda currently resides at Greystone Nursing Facility near the Tri-Cities Airport. Visitation and support from friends and family are deeply appreciated during this time
