Listen to Obituary

Eddie Eugene Jackson, 77, of Kingsport, TN, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving children.

A lifelong resident of the Kingsport area, Eddie lived a simple life, but it was a life filled with hard work, humor, and love for the people around him. He was the kind of man who believed in staying busy, taking care of what needed to be done, and giving his best in everything he did. Eddie worked throughout his life and was known to rarely miss a day. Even when he was not working, he was usually finding something to fix, build, or keep his hands busy.

For many years, Eddie worked in several local grocery stores, serving in management and as a skilled master butcher. He was respected for his work ethic and remembered by many for his friendly personality. Eddie never met a stranger. Whether at work, in the neighborhood, or out in the community, he had a way of making people feel welcome with his humor, easy conversation, and good-hearted nature.

Eddie was a simple man in the very best sense of the word. He did not ask for much, and he found joy in what he had. He appreciated the ordinary moments of life, the comfort of home, the satisfaction of a hard day's work, and the love of his family. His children loved their dad deeply, and they will forever remember the strength, laughter, and steadiness he brought into their lives.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Kathleen (Cole) Jackson.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Melissa Marshall and Regina Jackson; sons, Bud Jackson and Kevin Jackson; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Brenda Head and husband James, and Patsy Lloyd and husband Jack; brother, Nathan Jackson; several nieces and nephews; and his former wife and dear friend, Peggy Fink and husband Tony.

There are no formal services scheduled at this time.
