Edith Eugenia Doane Faulkner, 94, of Abingdon, VA, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
Edith was a devoted mother and grandmother whose love for her family was the center of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories around the table, in conversation, and through the simple joys of everyday life. Her heart was generous and kind, and she truly never met a stranger.
She retired from Sears after 33 years of dedicated service, and in her retirement, Edith embraced the hobbies she loved most. She found delight in watching hummingbirds flutter about, enjoyed painting-especially inspired by her favorite artist, Bob Ross-and took pride in preparing meals and sweet treats for those she loved. A self-proclaimed sweets connoisseur, she had a particular fondness for Milky Way candy bars.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene & Edith Pet Doane; her husband, Roy R. Faulkner; her son, Joseph Faulkner; her granddaughters, Toni Dollar and Tammy Dollar; as well as many brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish Edith's memory are her children, Michael Faulkner, Barbara Faulkner, and Susan (Phil) Johnson; her grandchildren, Jason Faulkner, Mark Dollar, Joe Gott, Hannah Gott, Rachel Johnson, and Leah Johnson; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
