Edith Josephine Sutherland

Edith Sutherland, 83, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 28th, 2024.

Edith was born in 1940 in Kingsport, TN. She graduated in 1958 from Church Hill High School and married her sweetheart, Gerry, on January 12th, 1963, enjoying a long and happy 61 years of marital bliss. A dedicated homemaker, Edith loved to cook and entertain friends and family. Her love for her children, grandchildren, and especially her great-grandchildren, was unparalleled. She enjoyed bowling and fishing with her husband, as well as traveling, with one of her favorite memories being the year she spent in England with Gerry. Edith was known for being outgoing, caring, and kind, and she will be greatly missed by many.
Edith was predeceased by her parents, John and Leona Hilton. She is survived by her husband, Gerry; sons, Dwaine Sutherland and wife Amy, and David Sutherland; daughter, Kim Ladd and husband Tim; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and seven siblings.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
