Eleanor Louise Detamore

Eleanor Louise "Nanny" Detamore, 86, of Kingsport, TN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Wexford House surrounded by family.

Nanny was born on November 29, 1938, in Wilsonburg, West Virginia, to the late Ethel Pauline Shingleton and Emmit Dennison. She was adopted and lovingly raised by Losha Louise Wolfe and Mack Wolfe.

She worked for Radford Army Ammunition Plant in Radford, Virginia and the Greenbrier County, WV, school system as a custodian. Nanny took pride in her work and found joy in the friendships she made along the way.

She was well-known for her love of decorating for every holiday, gardening, and spending time with her family. Nanny had a heart full of love and always made sure everyone felt welcome in her home.

She was preceded in death by her brother, William Comerford, and daughter, Patty Kate Haney.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Losha Riner and husband Jeff, Telda Whitaker husband Terry, Randy Hines and wife Becky, and Richy Hines and wife Theresa; grandchildren: Destiny Hope Detamore, Kayla Reid, Deanna Faith Detamore, Charity Chandler, Jazmine Chandler, Christopher Hines, Johnny, Brian, Norbert Haney, and Amy Young; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Her legacy will live on through the laughter, warmth, and love she shared so freely.

There will be no formal services at this time.
