Listen to Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Fields, 63, of Kingsport, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

Born in Kingsport, Tennessee, to A.G. and Maxie Sampson, Elizabeth grew up in a close-knit family and attended Lynn View Middle School. In 1981, she married the love of her life, Johnny Fields. From that day forward, the two were inseparable, never spending a single night apart throughout their 44 wonderful years together.

Elizabeth was a devoted Baptist whose faith was central to her life. She loved the beauty of flowers, her family, and the joy of a bustling home. Known for her fiery spirit, she was fiercely loyal and protective of those she loved. If Elizabeth liked you, you had a steadfast friend and partner for life. If she didn't, you knew that too. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and made sure that if you ever came through her door, you didn't leave hungry. Sunday dinners were her tradition, bringing together her family around her table.

She delighted in her role as a grandmother, and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was always full of laughter, love, and sometimes even a little chaos - just the way she liked it. She also had a tender spot for her pets, especially her bearded dragon, Mushu, and her dog, Bandit, who were always by her side.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, A.G. and Maxie Sampson; her sister, JoAnn Burke; and her brother, John David "Baldy" Sampson.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Johnny Fields; daughters, Rebecca Jarrett and Bonnie Hall (Jamie); son, Travis Jarrett (Dani); grandchildren, Tabitha Tipton (April), Destiny Winters (Axel), Sierra Jackson, Joseph "JoJo" Jackson, Noah Fields, Payton Hall, Nikolai Schmiedel, and Johnny Wayne Jarrett; great-grandchildren, Johnathon "JonJon" Killion, Jayce Armstrong, Anthea "Lilly" Jackson, Liam Jackson, and Jackson Hall; and one new, precious great-grandchild expected in April 2026.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all her caretakers, especially April Tipton, and to everyone who went above and beyond in caring for Elizabeth.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made toward funeral expenses at Trinity Memorial Centers.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (423-723-8177) is honored to serve the family. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.trinitymemorialcenters.com <http://www.trinitymemorialcenters.com>.>
