Louise R Winebarger

Ellen Louise Winebarger, 86, of Johnson City, TN, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Louise was a joy to be around and brought warmth and light wherever she went. She had a giving heart, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer kindness to anyone in need. Outgoing by nature, she loved to talk and connect with others, never meeting a stranger and quickly turning acquaintances into lifelong friends. Her vibrant spirit and easy smile made her beloved by all who knew her.

She found great happiness in traveling and exploring new places, and she especially enjoyed watching football and basketball, often cheering on her favorite teams with enthusiasm. Above all, Louise cherished time spent with her family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Garrett Winebarger; her parents, Tom and Margaret Rutherford; and her siblings, Fain Rutherford, Gene Rutherford, Charles Rutherford, Johnny Rutherford, and Mike Rutherford.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Carol Edwards; her brother, David Rutherford (Cindy) of Knoxville, Tennessee; her sisters-in-law, Frances Rutherford, Joyce Rutherford, and Susan Rutherford; her step-son, Bart Winebarger (Melissa) of Florida; and her cherished grandson, Declan. She is also lovingly remembered by her special friends, Wanda Casteel and Lynda Jones, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a wide circle of dear friends.

Louise's kindness, laughter, and generous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Louise's memory to the Kingsport Animal Shelter.
