Estill William Fairchild

Estill William (Bill) Fairchild died peacefully at his home after a long illness on Saturday, November 5, 2016. He was born in Paintsville, Kentucky on August 29, 1927 and he grew up in Paintsville, Kentucky. At the age of 18 years old, he joined the Merchant Marines as an Able Bodied Seaman and retired after 50 years as a 2nd Mate. He said it was the best job in the world. He is survived by his wife, Charlene, of 39 years; children, Harold, Becky Hutson, Holly and Richard Chatfield, Harlan, and Peggy Hutson; grandchildren, Harold (Amy), Hans, Christy (Robert), Katie (John) and Anne (Tomas); and great grandchildren, Zach (Shelby), Autumn, Cameron, Hannah, Josie, Amiah and Ryder. A Life Celebration will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Trinity Memorial Centers Funeral Home (1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport, TN 37660).
