Listen to Obituary

Francine Marie Dickson, lovingly known as Fran, Mom, "Franchesca" to her father, and "Chichi-Bean" to her Nana, passed away peacefully at home on March 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving husband and son.

Fran was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend who brought warmth and kindness everywhere she went. She is survived by her husband, Jack; her son, Jason; her sister, Mary; her brothers-in-law, Dave (Billie) and Gary (Chelsea); her sister-in-law, Celeste; and numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Adeline Baragona.

Fran dedicated over 30 years of her life to Appalachian Oil, where she was not only a hardworking employee but also a beloved coworker and friend to many. She had a gift for connecting with people and truly never met a stranger.

She lived life with a spirit of adventure, taking many cross-country trips on the back of a motorcycle, with favorite destinations including New Mexico and Texas. At home, she found joy in life's simple pleasures-knitting, playing cards, painting, and cooking incredible Italian meals that brought her family together.

Fran's home was the heart of every Christmas, where she lovingly hosted family gatherings filled with laughter, food, and tradition. She was a woman of deep faith and a giving spirit, volunteering her time with Second Harvest and always putting others before herself.

Above all, Fran was an extraordinary wife and mother. She shared a loving marriage with her husband, Jack, for 57 years-a true testament to enduring love and commitment. For 48 years, she poured her heart into raising her son, earning, in every sense, the lifelong title of "Best Mom."

A visitation will be held on March 27th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at Trinity Memorial Center in Kingsport, Tennessee. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wheeler United Methodist Church in honor of Fran's life and legacy.

"The Lord is their strength; he is a strong fortress for his anointed king." - Psalm 28:8 (NLT)

Fran's love, laughter, and gentle spirit will live on in all who knew her.
