Freda Joyce Blevins

Freda Joyce Blevins, 80 of Kingsport, TN left this earthly world on Saturday April 26, 2025. She was the second child of five and was born "A Coal Miner's Daughter" to Charles Edward Riddle and Pauline Quesenberry Riddle in the coal camps of Calvin, VA on June 26, 1944.

She lived in many places in Southwest Virginia before calling Kingsport home in 1965. She held various jobs throughout her life but her 3 favorite ones were wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a long time member of the Kingsport Fraternal Order of Eagles #3141 where she served in the Ladies Auxiliary holding many offices, including several terms as Ladies President.

She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Pauline Riddle, sisters Bobbie Ann Allen and Geraldine Dean, brother Howard Edward Riddle and great grandson Emmett Cole Blevins.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Gary Allen Blevins, Sr, brother Mike Riddle and wife Nancy of Kingsport, TN, son Allan Blevins and wife Danella of Kingsport, TN, grandsons Arrick Blevins (Chelsea), Joshua Blevins, Peyton Blevins and Brycen Blevins, all of Kingsport, TN and great grandson Luke Blevins, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends from church. She really enjoyed her visits with  her friend Anita!

There are so many people the family would like to thank for their thoughts and prayers, it would take too many pages to do so, but please know that you all meant so much to her and to us as well. We would especially like to mention Caris Hospice for her wonderful care, especially Courtney, Travis, Nik, Gina and Nikki. The family is also very grateful for the friendship and services of her family in Christ, Pastor Larry Bledsoe and wife Carolyn, Pastor Tim Lovell, Rosa Nelson, and the rest of the entire family of Calvary Worship Center.

Visitation will be Saturday evening May 3 at Trinity Memorial Center, 1221 Stewball Circle, Kingsport Tennessee 37660 from 6pm-7pm with services following from 7pm-8pm by Pastors Larry Bledsoe and Tim Lovell. Graveside  services will be Sunday May 4, 12pm-1pm in Norton @ Laurel Grove Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Jude and any cancer center of your choosing.
