Garry G. Altizer of Jonesboro, TN. And formally of Wytheville, VA. Passed away at his residence on April 26th, 2026.

Garry was a Truck Driver, known to many as "Quarter Pounder." He worked many years for Lacy Bowman Trucking and Tidewater Transit Co. (TWT), until he retired. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved joking around. He had a love for old cars, especially El Caminos, and loved attending car shows. If you knew him you would know how much he loved his dogs.

He is preceded in death by his mother and step father, Dorothy and Argel Corvin; son, Gregory Altizer; and granddaughter, Amanda Altizer.

Left to cherish his memory is his companion, Betty W. Lefler; son, Gary G. "Jody" Altizer Jr. and wife Leigh Ann of Crockett, VA.; daughter, Glenda Altizer of Wytheville, VA.; grandson, Cody Altizer and wife Andrea of Max Meadows, VA., Aiden Sykes of Max Meadows, VA.; granddaughter, Alyssa Sykes of Max Meadows, VA.; sister, Becky Jackson of Wytheville, VA., ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Amelia, Tiffany and Kristy of Amedisys Hospice. Also, a special thanks to all his wonderful neighbors.

At Garry's request, there will be no funeral services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
