Gary Lee Foster

Gary Foster, 62, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at The Greens of Erwin on July 20, 2026.

Gary was born on March 14, 1964, in Erwin, Tennessee, where he spent most of his life. An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He found happiness in the quiet beauty of nature and the time spent pursuing the outdoor activities he loved.

Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Foster; his parents, Emmett and Blanche Foster; and his sister, Mary Lou Foster.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Billy Foster and Savannah Coffee; grandson, River Foster; sisters, June Cutshall and husband Gary, Jeanette Wooton and husband Robert, and Diana Hensley and husband Dennis; brother, Larry Copp; sister-in-law, Melissa Mann and husband James; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Gary will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date.
