Robert George "Bobby" Strong

George Robert Strong "Bobby", 74, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Maryland, George moved to Hawkins County as a young boy, where he was lovingly raised by his grandparents. A true outdoorsman at heart, he found joy and pride in working with his hands - whether it was wrenching on vehicles, casting a line in the water, or simply being outside. He loved his animals, especially his beloved Chihuahua, Tadpole. He had a larger-than-life personality marked by playful arguments, and a fondness for rooster fighting and moonshine.

George cherished his family deeply, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought light to his days and pride to his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Eula Strong; his son, Hank Strong; his daughter, April "Skeeter" Strong; and his sisters: Alice, Mary, Hazel, and Dorothy.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 41 years, Bonnie Strong; his daughter, Jerea; his sisters, Susie and Glenda; son-in-law, Andy Hickman; grandchildren, Andre and Andrew; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to all of George's caregivers, his compassionate hospice nurses, and the staff at Franklin Woods Hospital.

The family will hold private funeral services in the family cemetery. Any other listings are in error.
