Harry Lee Colerick died July 14, 2026, in Kingsport, TN. He was born May 3, 1941, in Gillette, WY, to Lloyd Scott Colerick and Elsie Hart Colerick. The family moved to Rapid City, South Dakota, where Harry attended grade school. He was a 1959 graduate of Rapid City High School. From there, he did some studies at Spearfish College and at a business school in Rapid City. He graduated with a BS in Business Management from ETSU after he moved to Tennessee to work for Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. He later went into the insurance business with several companies, including Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., and later became an insurance broker. He married a Kingsport girl, Charlene Gilley, in 1968, and they were married 58 years. They enjoyed traveling all around the West and Midwest each summer on their vacations. After retirement, they spent many Septembers in Rapid City and enjoyed good times riding the trike through the Black Hills and visiting with family and old school friends. At home in Kingsport, they were members of the Waverly Road Presbyterian Church.
Harry enjoyed riding motorcycles, and he became an honorary Peacemaker. He spent many hours with his Peacemaker friends until he was no longer able to ride. He was talented in woodworking and other crafts, which he picked up from his folks' business, the Toy Hobby Center in Rapid City. In retirement, he especially enjoyed sitting in front of his desktop computer and exploring the Internet.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Mathew Warren Colerick.
He is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Gilley Colerick; a sister, Patty Ann Howe of Anacortes, WA; a brother, Ronald Allen Colerick and wife Deb of Rapid City, SD; nieces Teri Ann Howe of Seattle, WA, and Sarah Ann Fobes of Coeur d'Alene, ID; nephew Carlton Dan Howe of Seattle, WA; great-niece Sylvie Fobes of Coeur d'Alene, ID; great-nephew Bridger Fobes of Coeur d'Alene, ID; and in-laws, Connie and Bobby Boling, David and Cathy Gilley, and Bill and Jana Seaver.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holston Habitat, Shades of Grace, or the Peacemakers Foundation. Harry's wishes were to be cremated, and no formal services will be held.
