Harry Dean Pierce

Harry "HD" Pierce, 91, of Butler, TN, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the Mountain Home VA Hospital, surrounded by the love of his daughters.

He was born on April 18, 1934, and was a longtime member of Cobbs Creek Baptist Church in Butler, where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Marlene; mother, Christine Novella Oliver; three brothers, Ralph Pierce, Sam Pierce, Richard Oliver; and his sister, Doris Walsh.

He is now reunited in heaven with those he loved.

Harry is survived by two daughters, Vikkie Minton (John) of Florida and Lori Anderson of Butler; grandchildren J.T. Minton, Kayla Boone (Stuart), and Garrett Anderson (Cassie); great-grandchildren Emmie and Levi Boone, and Elise & Emmalyn Anderson.

He is also survived by his brothers Bobby Jo (Pat) Oliver, Lloyd Oliver, Gerald (Jennie) Oliver; and his sister, Elizabeth (Jerry) Wotherspoon.

Harry served 20 years in the United States Air Force and retired from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Tampa, Florida. He was a lifelong member of the Butler Ruritan Club and a true "jack of all trades." Known for his generous heart, he was always ready to help someone in need and never met a stranger.

He will be missed greatly.

Upon his request, no formal funeral services will be held. A private inurnment will take place at the VA at a later date, followed by a celebration of life to be announced.
