Harry Edward Stallard Jr., age 84, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, after a brief illness in Kingsport, Tennessee, where he was a lifetime resident. Born on November 6, 1941, Harry was the son of Virginia and Harry Stallard, Sr. He lived a life full of dedication, hard work, and adventure, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Harry graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1959 and later earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee in 1964. He married his high school sweetheart, Ann Kabler Philbeck, on December 22, 1963. Together, they created a loving home and shared a passion for travel. Harry was able to visit 48 states over the years.
Harry dedicated his career to the trucking industry and was the proud owner of Brick Delivery, which he ran until his retirement in 2021 at the age of 80. His dedication to his work and his employees was evident in the way he ran his businesses for nearly 60 years, becoming a respected figure in the industry.
In addition to his work and travel, Harry was a devoted family man. He was known for his warm heart, his love for adventure, and his ability to make everyone around him feel like family. His life was a testament to the values of perseverance, loyalty, and kindness. He truly was The Special One.
Harry is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Kabler Philbeck Stallard; mother, Virginia Edith Stallard; father, Harry Edward Stallard, Sr. He is survived by his loving daughters, Christine Stallard-Matiz (Ernie), Amy Stallard Sapinsley (Edwin), and Virginia Stallard Andrews (Brent); Eight Grandchildren, Edward Price Stallard (Meagan), Abdel Elmaaroufi-Matiz, Christopher Brian McDaniel, Jr. (Mary Clarie), Catharine Ann McDaniel (Collin), Bailey Aaron Matiz (Morgan), Elizabeth Marie McDaniel, Chase Austin Matiz, and Violet Stallard Andrews; Four great-grandchildren; sisters Donna Stallard Lowe and Lisa Stallard Henderson: and brother Malcolm Stallard; special family, Brian McDaniel, Cheryl Roberts, Linda Talbert, Diane Hickman and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A service to celebrate Harry's life will be held at East Hill Cemetery in Bristol, TN located at East Street, and Georgia Ave on March 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM Eastern Time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Organization in loving memory of his wife Ann (alz.org).
