Harvey Allen Laney

Harvey Allen Laney of Kingsport, TN passed away on Oct. 1, 2024. 

He was an Army Veteran during the Vietnam War, stationed in Japan and Alaska, and received the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service. After returning home, he resumed his job at Eastman Chemical Company, where he was employed for over 30 years. After he retired, he drove a semi-truck for 5 years. 

Harvey was preceded in death by his father, G. Buford Laney, Sr., and his mother, Virginia M. Beasley. 

He leaves behind a son, Robbie Laney (Jackie), and two grandchildren, Wyatt and Sophie Laney of Oak Ridge, TN. He also leaves behind his sister, Debbie Dodson of Kingsport, TN, and his brother, George B. Laney, Jr. of Gray, TN, along with several nieces and nephews. 

He will be laid to rest at the Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City, TN, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 10 am.
