Harvey Henry Shepherd Jr.

Harvey Henry Shepherd Jr., 76, of Gray, TN, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

Harvey proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1974. He later worked many years as a mechanic and was employed at the cotton mill in Kingsport as well as Exide in Bristol. A true car enthusiast, he loved hot rods and trucks. Harvey was known for his good humor, quick jokes, and ever-present smile that brought joy to those around him.

On February 11, 2004, Harvey married the love of his life, Brenda, with whom he shared 21 wonderful years. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his family, especially spoiling his beloved grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Shepherd, Sr. and Rene Shepherd; and two brothers, Eddie Shepherd and Johnny Shepherd.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Brenda; his sons, Todd Shepherd and Erik Shepherd; his daughter, Amy Carter (Brandon); his step-son, Lance Hobbs; his grandchildren, Connor, Dylan, Lucas, Logan, Will, and Jake; his great-granddaughter, Yasmine; his sister, Connie Gallagher (Robert); his brother, Jimmy Shepherd (Les); his sister-in-law, Janice Shepherd; and his special friend, Doug Barnette.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Trinity Memorial Centers, with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 PM, officiated by Brandon Carter.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Tumkur, his nursing staff, and the Hospice nurses for their compassionate care and support during Harvey's final days.
