Ira Ruben Babb

Ira Ruben Babb, 86, of Blountville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. "Soapy" as he was affectionately known was a simple man. He enjoyed gardening, and spending time with his grand kids and his great-grandson. Ira was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Sina Louise Babb; brothers, Joseph Babb, Junior Babb, and Leonard Babb; sisters, Lillian Babb, Alice Babb-Tolley, Lara Marie Miller, and Willamary Blalock; and grandson, Eric Babb. He is survived by brother, Jerry Babb (Margaret); son, John Babb (Melanie); daughter, Mary Trent (Steve); grandchildren, Ellen Trent, Ina Trent, and Amanda Gillam; great-grandson, Timothy Gillam; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 6th, at Trinity Memorial Centers. A graveside service will follow at Pleasent Hill Cemetery in Blountville, TN at 3:30 pm.
