James Gamble

James Gamble, 70, of Kingsport, TN, entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

James was born and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee to Billy and Nannie Gamble. He was a proud member of Calvary Baptist Church for 34 years and cherished his faith deeply. James worked for JP Stevens for many years, where he was known for his skill and reliability. He was a devoted husband to Ruby Gamble, the love of his life, for 35 years.

Known for his mechanical skill, James could fix nearly anything-even after losing his sight. He loved to travel, spend time with his family, take walks, and share his quick wit and great sense of humor. Outspoken and full of life, he was always ready with a story or a laugh and had a remarkable gift for bringing joy to those around him.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Nannie Gamble; his brother, Tom Gamble; his nephew, Wayne Gamble; and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by a family that will cherish his love: his wife, Ruby Gamble; daughters, Mary Francis Bledsoe (Mark), Teresa Gamble (Kevin), Tina Gamble (Adam); son, Richard Gamble; grandchildren, Alissa Egan, Natalie Gamble, and Nolan Lawson; sisters, Phyllis Arnold (Steve Holt) and Mary Ellen Ward (Tony); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Friends and Family are invited to Trinity Memorial Centers in Kingsport, Tennessee, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00 PM, followed by a service at 6:00 PM.
