Jeffrey David Joseph

Jeffrey David Joseph, age 67, passed away on April 21, 2026, at his home in Jonesborough, Tennessee, following a long and courageous battle with illness.

Jeffrey was born on September 15, 1958, in Harlan, Kentucky, to the late Arnold and Elva Joseph. He spent most of his life working in the flooring business, where he built a reputation for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years, Christy Joseph; his parents; several siblings; and three grandchildren.

Jeffrey is survived by his children, Amanda Purkey (Alex), April Kilian (Josh), and Evan Joseph; as well as his brothers, sisters, and ten grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly.

Jeffrey found joy in the simple things in life. He loved fishing, tending to his garden, and raising his chickens. Known to many as a grouchy "old man," that reputation was only part of his charm. Those who truly knew him understood that beneath that exterior was a man with a big heart who loved his family deeply and found his greatest happiness in being surrounded by them.

A Celebration of Jeffrey's life will be held at a later date.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
