John Alfred Franklin Jr.

John Alfred Franklin Jr. went to be with the Lord and gained his wings on September 9, 2025. He loved playing basketball, watching NASCAR races, and going to any racetrack he could. John also deeply loved his family and friends, cherishing them more than anything.

John proudly served his country as a United States Marine, where he was honored to have served and sacrificed for freedom. In 2016, he met the love of his life, and she became his greatest blessing. He was proud of the woman she was, and he loved her with all his heart.

John is preceded in death by his dad, Mamaw, Aunt, Uncle, and his stepdad. He is survived by his wife, Nichole Taylor Franklin; his special nephews Jacob and Andrew Franklin; his niece and best buddy, Toby Allen Joe Horton; his niece whom he loved dearly, Rachael Nicole Horton; his favorite Beverly Nicole Horton; his special niece Andrea Sophia Crawford; his favorite Aunt Nikki Renee Crawford; his favorite Nana Robin Horton; and his papaw Chester Crawford. He will also be missed by his special friend Becky Marie Gray, his mom, his sister, his brother and pastor Jeremy Branham, many aunts, uncles, and countless friends who adored him.

John's memory will live on in the love he shared, the sacrifices he made, and the joy he brought to those who knew him.
