IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John David
Loshbaugh
November 20, 1949 – February 18, 2026
John David Loshbaugh was born November 20, 1949, in Bandon, Oregon, to Ennis and Viola Prewitt Loshbaugh, joining three siblings aged 17-23. He passed away February 18, 2026, at Mountain Home Veterans Hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee, from dementia and cancer. A 1968 graduate of Pacific H.S. in Port Orford, Oregon, John joined the Navy and was deployed to Vietnam as a Seabee, where he helped build a concrete plant and housing.
John married Marlene Wise in April 1973 in Coquille, Oregon. They lived all over Oregon, including the coast, near Redmond, and finally settled in Harrisburg. They had three children and were later divorced. John completed an EMT course and was a volunteer with Harrisburg Fire Department for 26 years.
John married Raande Andrews on December 30th, 1988. She had three children, so they resembled the "Brady Bunch."
He worked with Irwin Farms, Roy Bowers & Sons, and Stroda Farms in the tri-county area, as well as mechanical and manufacturing companies. His final 10 years of work were with the City of Harrisburg, retiring in 2014.
Along with his FD service, he was on the Harrisburg City Council and Planning Commission.
By 2023, four of the children lived in Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. During a visit with his oldest daughter, they decided to stay in North Carolina.
John had declined considerably by then. In 2025, he needed more care than being at home provided. His daughter Dawn lived in Tennessee, so she found a care facility near her.
An infection just before Christmas had him in the VA hospital. A lengthy stay ended with him in hospice.
He is survived by his wife, Raande in Tennessee; children Shirin of Virginia, Dawn (Fred) in Tennessee; Buck (Jackie) in Washington; Anna (Ron) Slaton in Oregon; Matt (Tracey) Andrews in South Carolina; and Valerie Andrews in Virginia. Grandfather to 16 and great-grandfather to 12.
His parents, three siblings, and 2 nieces preceded him in death.
John's legacy is with his son and grandson, who have continued volunteering with Harrisburg Fire Department.
A Celebration of Life will take place in Oregon at a later date.
