John Joseph Murphy Jr, a native of New York and a resident of Weber City, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 29th, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born in New York, John was proud of his roots and carried the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion that defined his upbringing. After many years in New York, he relocated to Virginia to be near his family, where he continued to share his warmth, kindness, and generous spirit with all who knew him.
John will be remembered for his big heart, unwavering loyalty, and genuine love for life. He had a deep appreciation for old westerns and nature and especially enjoyed fishing—a pastime that brought him great peace and fulfillment. Whether by a quiet lake or along the shore, he found joy in the stillness of the outdoors and the camaraderie that came with sharing those moments with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Allan Bryon Clark.
He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Imler and Johanna Murphy; sister, Patricia Gembicki; grandchildren, Stephanie Beckerman and husband Joshua, Skye Jones and wife Kaitlyn, Samantha Anne Clark, Brittany Phillips and husband Terry, Shalena Sloan and husband Josh; great-grandchildren, Rayne Armstrong, Kylee Beckerman, Lilliana Beckerman, Nova Beckerman, Ryatt Beckerman, Atlas Beckerman, Jase Jones, River Jones, Julissa Dawn Clark, Jordan Elizabeth Clark, Maverick Phillips, Allaya Sloan, and Allison Sloan, as well as many friends who will cherish his memory.
