Joyce Kiser

Joyce Kiser, age 83, of Kingsport, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 14, 2025.

Joyce was born in Norton, Virginia, on April 2, 1942, to the late Cloyd and Pauline (Hamilton) Laney. She made Kingsport her home for most of her adult life, where she built a legacy of faith, family, and service.

A devoted Christian, Joyce was a longtime member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Kingsport. She had a deep passion for attending church services and revivals throughout the region. One of her greatest joys was her weekly missionary work at the Roan Mountain Correctional Facility, where she faithfully shared God's word with those in need. Her heart for ministry touched countless lives.

Joyce loved spending time with her family more than anything, and she will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald E. Kiser; her son, Frankie Selvage; her sister, Shirley Stevens; and her brother, Virgle Laney.

She is survived by her daughter, Tina Hale, and husband Chris; three sons, Eddie Selvage and wife Melissa, Jeff Selvage and wife Darlene, and Daniel Kiser and Marlene Hutchins; and her sister, Bernice Falin.

Joyce was blessed with five grandchildren: Tonya Stipes and husband Justin, Cody Selvage and wife Kim, Laurel Tomlinson and fiancé Ben Hays, Lexi Tomlinson, and Luke Tomlinson; as well as five great-grandchildren: Hannah Stipes, Savannah Stipes, Kyla Selvage, Kinsey Selvage, and Houston Hayes.

In accordance with her wishes, Joyce will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your favorite charity in her memory.
