Joyce Ann Myers, 63, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
Born in Pleasantville, New Jersey, Joyce lived a life marked by intelligence, independence, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the people, animals, and experiences that brought her happiness.
Joyce was a graduate of Stockton State College in New Jersey, where she studied accounting and finance. Her education led to a successful career in the financial industry, where she worked as a financial manager for several Fortune 500 companies. She was dedicated and accomplished in her profession, building a career that reflected both her abilities and her strong work ethic.
Away from work, Joyce found her greatest happiness in the life she created and the people she shared it with. She had a special gift for making a house feel like home and took great pride in creating a place filled with warmth, comfort, and love.
Joyce also had an enormous heart for animals, especially her beloved dogs. They were never simply pets to Joyce; they were family, and she delighted in loving and, more often than not, thoroughly spoiling them. Her compassion extended to animals of all kinds, and they held a very special place in her heart throughout her life.
One of Joyce's greatest passions was traveling. She loved seeing the world and experiencing different countries, cultures, and places. Many of her favorite journeys were shared with her sister, and together they traveled internationally on numerous adventures. Those trips created a lifetime of stories, laughter, and treasured memories.
For 40 years, Joyce shared her life with her devoted significant other, Bruce Gordon. Four decades together brought countless ordinary days and extraordinary moments, all woven into a lifetime of companionship, love, and memories.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jean (Martin) Myers.
Those left to cherish her memory include her significant other of 40 years, Bruce Gordon; her brother and sister; two nieces and a nephew; her beloved fur babies; and the family and friends whose lives were made richer by knowing her.
Joyce will be remembered for the successful life she built, her adventurous spirit, the home she lovingly created, her devotion to animals, and most of all, for the love and memories she leaves with those who knew her best.
There will be no formal services at this time.
