Judith Ann Johnson

Judith "Judy" Ann Johnson, 82, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away the morning of September 8th, 2026 in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Judy was born on October 9th, 1943, in her childhood home on Greeley Street to Elmer Moss & Audrey Counterman in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born the twelfth child of fourteen. She married George Johnson in 1971. She worked at Hall's Restaurant in the bakery in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She lived in Bluffton, IN for ten years, and for the past year lived in Florida with her eldest granddaughter, Rachell. She most enjoyed going with her sisters and sister-in-law to play bingo; she really loved her bingo. She also loved country music, elephants, watching basketball, UFC, boxing, game shows, Law and Order: SVU, Lifetime and Hallmark Christmas movies. She loved doing puzzles and would also collect knickknacks and display all of her family photos throughout her homes. She loved purple Lilacs and Rose of Sharon. She loved eating sweets, and collecting Happy Meal toys.

She really enjoyed taking care of her family and was fiercely independent. She really cared for everyone she knew and was always putting everyone else first above herself. She was very close to her granddaughters, Rachell and Elizabeth; they were like daughters to her. She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren. She really loved them all. She was an amazing beautiful woman.

Preceding her in death are her husband, one grandchild, and one great-great grandchild.

Survivors include one sister, five children, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
