Kathy Lynne Owens

Kathy Lynne Owens, 72, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life. She enjoyed crafting, tending to flowers, fishing, spending time at the beach, and dancing. A graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School, she dedicated many years of service to Indian Path before retiring.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Charles Owens; her daughters, Michelle Williams, Christy Cleek, and Shelley McKenzie (Willie); her son, Buck Owens (April); her stepmother, MaryAnn Carter; her sister, Kim Quillen (Marty); her brother, Mike Carter; her grandchildren, Haley (Aren), Cooper, Ty, Trenton, and Campbell; her great-grandchildren, Willow and Wyatt; her special friends, Ada Harris and Gloria Carr; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis Moore; her father, Buster Carter; her stepfather, Fred Moore, Sr.; her brothers, Fred Moore, Jr. and Jeff Carter; her grandson, Benjamin Cleek; her son-in-law, Ty Steadman; and her special friend, Jane Clark.

Pallbearers will be Andy Cleek, Buck Owens, Cooper Cleek, David Stallard, Marty Quillen, Trenton McKenzie, Ty McKenzie, and Willie McKenzie.

A private family viewing will be held. There will be a graveside service at Mountain Home National Cemetery on Friday, July 24th, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. with Matthew Taylor officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Petworks in her memory.
