Kenneth Wayne Martin, age 82, passed away on October 29, 2026, at his home in Fall Branch, TN. He is walking with Jesus today.
He was the son of Leslie and Stella Martin. Ken was born and grew up in Kingsport, TN. After graduating from Holston High School, he served four years in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, in the 394th Strategic Missile Squadron, the Minuteman Missile.
After returning home to Kingsport, he met and married Brenda, his wife of 58 years. He earned two degrees from ETSU: a Bachelor's of Science and a Master's of Science in Environmental Health. He lived and worked in GA for 47 years. He retired with the City of Atlanta at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where he was Environmental Programs Manager.
After retiring, he moved to the country, where he was led by God to Mountain View Baptist Church in Thomaston, GA, and there found his purpose in life.
He became a member, usher, deacon, Sunday School teacher, Bible Branch leader, and helped in Awana and participated in Watch the Lamb. He was always willing to serve where needed.
He started the first Cancer Ministry and Intercessory Prayer Ministry. He was chosen to be the first Senior Adult Pastor, where he served until his health failed him. He truly loved his church and his Senior Adult Group.
