Kenny Gerald Griffin, 80, of Weber City, VA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Nova Health and Rehab Center in Weber City.
Kenny was born on September 18, 1944, in Gate City, Virginia, to George Clyde and Elsie Mae Griffin. He attended Speers Ferry School and later dedicated 37 years of hard work to JP Stevens Cotton Mill, followed by 8 more years of service at Exide before retiring.
A calm, kind-hearted, and gentle man, Kenny was known for his sweet demeanor and quiet strength. He loved his coffee-morning, noon, or night, there was always a fresh cup nearby. He found joy in life's simple pleasures- drinking coffee, watching a television show, especially westerns. He also spent many peaceful hours out on the porch, car watching and observing the many visiting birds. These quiet moments brought him comfort and contentment, reflecting his easygoing spirit and appreciation for the simple things in life. Above all, Kenny cherished his family, and he took great pride in his grandchildren, treasuring every moment spent with them.
In addition to his beloved wife of 54 years, Marie Causby Griffin, Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, George Clyde Griffin and Elsie Mae Flannary; his siblings, Elwood Griffin, Elmer "Dee" Griffin, Carlos Griffin, Janice Griffin Gibson, Marie Griffin Burke, Charles Gene "Gabby" Griffin, and Bobby Dale Griffin; sisters-in-law, Peggy Griffin and Jane Griffin; and brothers-in-law, Tom Gibson and James Burke.
Those left to honor his memory include his sons, Gerald Griffin (Nickie) of Yuma, VA, and Chad Griffin (April) of Gate City, VA; his grandchildren, Chandra Griffin-Dean (Tanner) of Gate City, VA, and Alex Griffin of Weber City, VA; his brothers, Gene Griffin (Sally) and Dewey Griffin (Inece); sister-in-law, Doris Griffin; his good friend Buddy; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
