In Loving Memory of Leonard Othennile Burrows Sr.
It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Leonard Othennile Burrows Sr., fondly known as "Skip," who left this world on October 15, 2026, at the age of 67, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Born on November 1, 1958, at the Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida, to his beloved parents, Leonard's life was a testament of service, love, and resilience.
Skip was preceded in death by Earl Sr. and Clovette Burrows. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, his devoted daughter, April and her husband, Richard, his caring son, Leonard and his wife, Angela. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Kelsey, Maison, Kaleigh, Austin, and Derek. He also leaves behind his fond siblings: Rusty and Pam, Mareda, Stacey and Tammy, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will miss his jovial spirit.
Leonard served his country with pride and honor as a military police dog trainer and handler. His dedication and courage were recognized through several accommodations and medals. He was not just a man in uniform; he was a symbol of bravery and dedication.
When not serving his nation, Skip found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved playing bingo, fishing and cards. He cherished spending time with his loved ones and fiercely protective of them
A Celebration of Life will be held in Leonard's honor on October 18, 2026, at 2 pm at the Hope Family Worship Center, 2001 Garrison Ave, Port St. Joe, Florida. We invite all those who knew and loved Leonard to join us in paying tribute to a life well-lived.
Leonard was a man who never met a stranger. His warm heart, open mind, and ready smile made him a friend to all. He was a beacon of strength for his family, a stalwart friend, a devoted husband, an adoring father, and doting grandfather. His absence will be deeply felt, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
May his soul find peace and rest eternal. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, loved beyond words, and missed beyond measure.
